I was kind of struck that Gillian Anderson, being interviewed and responding to her role as Thatcher, sounded like she was responding as Margaret Thatcher. Or does she actually sound that way?

It IS a magnificent production.....however, I wished there was a disclaimer at the beginning, stating the stories are not always true, especially how relations are depicted. So many are draw into the fantasy that is Diana and choose make everyone around here to blame. It just is so inaccurate! Gossip and opinion can be so dangerous, not to mention how damaging to the innocent.

They were all brilliant! But I do believe that Emma portrayed Diana a little bit too "dramatic"? Maybe not Emma herself but the script. Diana was very shy and much softer. I don't think they managed to show that... Anyways, great cast and writers. It's really hard to play a real persona and tell a real story. Can't wait for the next season

While recovering from a disease acquired by a bacterium ... alone in my quarantined house, I followed each episode, reflecting on this “drama” of the crown, I wonder if it is worth giving up personal feelings? “It’s not my job to tell the true story of Charles. It’s not what we’re doing at all”. We definitely have to remember that as a show is a portrayal and story based off of truth with a lot of fillers to make it a show. Because the actors are so good and so is the writing, it’s hard to remember that it is the show and we have to hear everything from the real people themselves and their actions in public.

The difference between Gillian’s Thatcher and Thatcher herself is that the husky voice didn’t appear until Thatcher retired. Before then, she had a smoother voice but part of what Thatcher is known for is that husky voice which Gillian brought in brilliantly.

Gillian Anderson, from the moment she entered Season 4 as "Margaret Thatcher," truncated every other character's performance of the entire series. Well...except for Emma Corrin:-) Emmy for Gillian.

Why is Gillian Anderson speaking with a British accent during this interview? She was born in Chicago and lived a big part of her life in the US. I know she lived in the England as a young child but surely she lost that thick accent by the time she was a young adult.

Peter Morgan is full of it when he says he couldn't live with himself if he violates the truth. The whole show is a violation of the truth. Watch Lady Colin Campbell's channel as she goes through The Crown, episode by episode, and corrects some of the glaring inaccuracies they've put into the script. You'll learn true history.

They are great actors of course but they are not acting here because they are used as impersonators and that's the whole problem of the series.
