The most powerful words i have ever heard spoken. I had a daughter that was murdered when she was only 2yrs old i literally died with her, i gave up on my dreams and hopes because of my depression i releated many ways in what he had to say about his sister. His words have made me feel his pain and joy because in many ways i and most others have felt what he had emoted so eloquently. I am moved beyond words i love his beautiful gift that puts me on a real journey of emotions and lets me know i am not alone. I find his way of expression more beautiful than music or anything else i can think of that i ever heard. I imagine his family must feel very blessed and proud of this young man that is able to profoundly express his thoughts and emotions in such a beautiful way. God has blessed BRANDON LEAKE with wonderful words, he is a truely gifted young man that has a way of making you go on a powerfully emotional journey that leaves you feeling.......... WOW

I'm a fan of spoken word, and these are excellent examples. I will say I don't quite know where his career goes from here. You can build individual moments out of poetry, several minutes per, but a series of moments built into a 90 minute or longer stage show would be a pretty big ask. It's almost better for GRgone, where the expectation IS discrete sized bites at a time.

Hopefully Brandon will read this. Brandon, I grew up in Stockton. I'm from the East side though, I know you stayed out south. We're brothers.... from different father's and mother's obviously. Haha. I always thought growing up in Stockton, you were cursed to never do anything with your life. We called it stuckville growing up. I lost many many family members and even one of my childhood friends to gun fire. My closest 1st cousin and best friend Carlos was shot 6 times. His brother 7 times the year prior. Yes my Tia (Aunt) lost two sons in two years both murdered my gang members and none of them were in gangs. My good child hood friend Robert Garcia killed as well...I can go on and on. I almost lost my life as well. I've been jumped, fired at, and even almost did it to myself. When Nick and Nate put Stockton on the map i thought, finally someone like me made it out by utlizing what we had have in the hoods of Stockton to live. Fight. Another making it is the son of my childhood friend Gabriel Flores Jr as a boxing phenom. The youngest to be signed by Top Rank. A man who grew up in my neighborhood became the 1st Mexican American to travel into space byvthr name of Jose Hernandez. Dallas Braden pitched a perfect game for my Oakland A's. I guess you can tell Im wrll informed about our city because I always knew growing up that even though we slept on the floor from risks of getiing killed in a drive by, there were people trying to do good. You are that person I've been imagining to make it special. You put us on the map using something different then physical weapons. Not that its a bad thing but now someone is showing people that we're not all gang members in Stockton. You're showing the world that not all of us people of color brown and black to be exact, chose thug life. The way they seem to believe if your from our city. We have passion and intellect.
