I used to make smurf accounts on B02 when it popular. I went with my cousin winning 22 search and destroy games in a row. Non stop wins. It was amazing seeing a level 20 overtaking while lobbies.

I have friends in lower elo that I wanna play with. Though I gotta admit as much as I try not to，I always end up try harding and destroying the other team.

I actually like smurf accounts. They're a great way to keep all the players on their toes and make me feel better about my own skill. I mean, just BARELY qualifying for a skill threshold and realizing you are now the weakest link and are in danger so you play against people you know they can beat while avoiding players that are actually better than them. Remember kids: trying is hard, don't do that.

To this day one of my proudest gaming moments was when I first started playing cs:go. I was pretty good at shooters, but cs:go just never really appealed to me, however, one of my friends was one of those people with 2000 hours and he came over and convinced me to play it. After a couple matches, once I started to get a good handle on the game a bunch of people in game chat kept ripping into me for being a "smurf" at the time I had no idea what it meant, but later on it felt pretty good.

smurfing do be hella fun though. In cs its probably the only fun I can have. EIther malding and sweating to play against people my own skill or just relax and go for troll plays and consitantly win clutches. Its shitty but the world's shitty. Besides, if you cant beat a smurf you dont deserve to increase in rank because an increase in rank would mean being able to deal with players at that rank XD.

Personally I think that matchmaking systems should alternate between matching you with people a few levels above you and a few levels below you. That way you challenge yourself and learn new techniques by playing higher level opponents. Then you can try and practice those techniques when you are playing against lower level opponents. You get them down and you actually move up in skill not just in title. I think it would also cut down on smurfing since if you are always guaranteed a few games where you do decent even at max level then why smurf? Granted this would be mostly for a social setting but I think if the social side was used to play casually and improve it could inform where you start out on the competitive side. Just something I've been thinking about recently.

Used to smurf in csgo and I'd just troll and throw games but the moment another smurf joins and starts shit talking... They lose every round after that.

At this time I just kinda wish Smurfs get kicked or banned like I get if it's open world multiplayer cause if you want a different character to hold your amazing stuff while you are gonna go do something with lower gear that's fine. Once, in the first week I tried LoL there was a guy flexing in how good he is because he was gold in his main, and how he would carry everybody all alone. Turns on that the enemy team had a REALLY better smurf than he was, so he got destroyed :D

I grinded to LEM with my friends in CSGO from silver 2 years ago. We got tired or tryharding and got cozy over at MGE-DMG. Unfortunately we have silver friends. When we play with them we have silver accounts but we dont wanna smurf either. To compromise between playing with low elo friends and not smurfing we play with handicaps. One friend uses pistols only. Another used a 2x2 inch opaque square as a crosshair and I turned mine off.

Smurfing is one of the most relaxing things you can do. Especially on free to play days

The funny thing about those high level players is that they are actually hard gatekeeping people from playing games with low player counts, essentially speeding up the game's playercount death. In time they will only be able to play against mega tryhards like themselves. BF3 is LITERALLY unplayable. And last time I tried playing it, it was maybe in 2016 or 2017. One of the most fun games ever, but so hollow with tryhards.
